Welcome

Welcome to the homepage for Capital District Habitat for Humanity.  We are your local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, International.

Our mission is to ensure that everyone in our community has a decent, affordable home.  That mission is made possible through partnerships and the generosity of our volunteers, sponsors, and donors and our Habitat Homeowners.  Habitat for Humanity operates as a construction company; we build houses, as a bank; we offer 0% interest loans to Habitat qualified families to own their home; and, as a social service agency; serving in partnership our families over the term of the mortgage.

14 Odell Street Home Dedication

 Image  Image

On September 9th, 2008 we presented house keys to our newest homeowner, Holly Nicholson, at 14 Odell Street in Albany.  Construction of the home was sponsored by St. Edward's the Confessor Roman Catholic Church and the Melville family.  Upon realizing the American Dream, the single mother of three said,

"First, I want to thank God for making this happen for me and my family.  This was always my dream, to own my own home, and my dream has come true for me, and I want to thank everyone for making this happen for my family."
